Minerals are essential for Vannamei shrimp, supporting growth, health, and vital biological processes. Shrimp absorb minerals from both feed and the pond environment, requiring 2-5% of their feed intake, with higher needs in densely stocked ponds. Mineral deficiencies can disrupt the ecosystem, slowing growth, causing health issues, and reducing productivity.

Mineral deficiencies can disrupt the ecosystem, slowing growth, causing health issues, and reducing productivity.
Insufficient minerals also hinder beneficial microorganisms, such as plankton, which break down harmful substances, worsening water quality and increasing disease risks. To ensure adequate mineral levels, shrimp feed must contain key minerals like calcium, phosphorus, and zinc, complemented by proper pond and feed management for sustainable shrimp farming.
